As a graduate of a high school where our mascot was The Hornets, I feel compelled to tell you that for the first time ever there are 7 endangered species of bees! That is not good!

We probably have all heard or known that the bees are in danger, but how the heck do WE help?! Here are 8 things you can do to help the bees and our world:

1. Plant bee friendly flowers and flowering herbs in your garden and yard. Or even in a planter box outside your window.

2. Weeds, like clover, dandelion, or wildflower weeds are good for the bees. So before yanking them out of your yard, maybe they don't look SO horrible and you can leave them a bit longer. Just a bit.

3. Bees actually like water. Who knew?! So place a little water bowl outside by your plants or garden and it will keep the bees happy :)

4. Support your LOCAL and RAW honey! Yes I know it can be more expensive, but typically honey isn't used in massive amounts and your heart will feel more whole knowing that you are giving back and helping keep this world flourishing... :)

5. Chemical sprays affect bees so much! So supporting LOCAL and Organic and Sustainable farmers and purchasing your food from them not only helps the environment, gives back to the community, helps you have a healthier lifestyle, and helps the local businesses - it helps the bees!

6. You can always learn to become a bee keeper! I know two lovely bee keepers!

7. If you like getting involved through politics there are petitions and things you can sign and measures to vote on.

8. Finally, you can SHARE! A lot of times people just don't know what to do to help. Feel free to pass on this message so that we can help spread the word!
